My Nephew's 1st Birthday

When my nephew turned one I was under strict instructions from my sister to keep it low key! The only decorations we had were some balloons and the bunting from Paper Eskimo. The spotted cups and plates were ordered through the Donna Hay General Store

The sweets table was the feature

We had mini lemon tarts, popcorn cups, sandwiches, lolly jars and 100’s and 1000’s rolls. We also had chocolate crackles and honey joys – my husband and I have a long held rivalry of which is better. Chocolate crackles of course.
For the hot food we served mini dogs, buttermilk chicken nuggets and Nanna’s sausage rolls.
I made the giant freckles and placed them in one of my many jars that I have collected – along with store bought pastel meringues and marshmallows

My sister made the very tasty birthday cake

I work in travel and between a working holiday away and then work trips I spent a lot of my 20’s travelling.  I was so excited when I found this to buy for his 1st birthday. I hope he has his Aunty's travel bug! It’s a world map with the printing ‘Merrick’s World to Discover’. This print can be ordered through My Sweet Prints
